AI-CAM – the orientating vision system with Artificial Intelligence

AI is a collection of technologies enabling computers to perform a variety of advanced functions, such as visual recognition, data understanding and data analysis. Our new AI-CAM, an AI-enhanced camera developed by our Research and Development department, is equipped with sophisticated software and a high-efficiency LED illuminator. This setup autonomously identifies the sides of blanks and buttons, even with intricate shapes and materials such as mother-of-pearl, real horn, and complex polyester effects.
The vision system can accurately assess and identify the correct side, eliminating manual operations typically performed by an operator. This automation simplifies the loading process, significantly reducing costs and time.
How does it work?
The vision system of evaluating and selecting the correct side of the blank before processing, discarding any pieces that don’t meet quality standards—even on finished buttons ready for marking. This enables accurate orientation for nearly all materials and shapes, including challenging pearlescent ones.

Real Trocas can now be loaded automatically without manual orientation. Polyester Center Pearl can be loaded in blanks like other polyester buttons, eliminating the need for autobar loading.
